Who Benefits?
1. ADULTS
Nearly 90% of workers who would be affected by a 2025 increase to $15/hour are workers aged 20 and older.
2. FAMILIES
Nearly a quarter of workers who would benefit from a minimum wage increase are parents.
3. THE WORKING POOR
Research has found that for every 10% increase in the minimum wage, the poverty rate decreases by about 5% in the long run.
4. FULL-TIME WORKERS
The majority (55%) of workers who would benefit from a minimum wage increase work full time (35 or more hours per week).
5. College Educated People
41% of minimum wage workers have at least some college experience.
6. Local Businesses and Economy
Paying living wages improves employee retention and motivation. Workers spend more money in their own neighborhoods, which circulates through communities and revitalizes local economies.
